The Triangle's Authentic 80s British Musical Experience
ABOUT US

Synchronous in 3 are a collection of professional musicians recreating the 80s British musical experience.
Centering on The Police, U2 and unique British underground moments from the decade, Syn3 recreates the sonic quality and perfection Triangle audiences demand.
THE EXPERIENCE
England in the 1980s was not the US in the 1980s. Life, politics, strife and music were different.
Very different.
Synchronous in 3 presents an authentic landscape of music North Carolina knows, but some that only those who were there know.

If you danced to it in Manchester in '85, you can do it again.

More on The Syn3 Experience...
The Triangle is fortunate to have so many great bands covering the music audiences want to hear. It almost doesn't matter the tune you want to dance to on a Friday night—you're likely to find a solid live cover. Good tunes, busting it on the floor and your favorite adult beverage—what could be wrong? Well....nothing. And that's exactly where SYn3 comes in...
We make the Syn3 experience an authentic 80s UK musical experience. In addition to focusing on The Police and U2, we also cover music popular in the UK that never made it to the US.
Killing Joke anyone? Some of those proto-goth Cure tunes?
Sure, we got the notes, but we also focus on the sound quality of our covers—it's central to who we are as a band. Yes, reproducing those critical textures as clearly as possible is vital to the music you love and we make things authentic there as well!

Meet the Band
Kate Annett-Hitchcock (vocals, bass). A native of the United Kingdom, Kate has been a vocalist on-and-off for most of her life. In her mid-40s, she connected with stringed instruments, picking up the mandolin and becoming half of "The Barred Owls," a Triangle-based folk duo. A few years later, she decided to join the wild world of rock 'n roll. She is emerita professor at the Wilson College of Textiles at NC State and spends her spare time sewing, gardening and trying to support Manchester United.
Rich Holly (drums, percussion, vocals). Rich's eclectic career includes credits as a drummer, percussionist, composer, producer, author, and arts leader. In addition to numerous classical and new music ensemble appearances across the world, he has been performing in rock and jazz bands since the age of 12, including 16 years with Inner City recording artists Rhythmic Union. The former Executive Director for the Arts at NC State University and Dean Emeritus of the Arts at Northern Illinois University, where for 32 years he served as a professor of percussion, Rich is a past president of the international Percussive Arts Society, the author of over 150 articles and two books, and a composer of percussion and film scores. His public guest appearances are sponsored by Yamaha Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets, and Latin Percussion (LP Music). Learn more here.
Gary Beckman (guitars, keyboards). A life long musician and BMI artist, Gary toured much of the northern US in bands ranging from prog to classic rock to solo acoustic music. He's launched a number of arts businesses, teaches music, music/arts-related issues and served as keyboardist for then Boston-based Young American Records artists MRC. An avid English football fan, Gary does not divulge who he supports for fear of mysteriously losing more gear.
